SEGA has unleashed a new trailer to Phantasy Star Online 2. The sequel to the original console MMORPG is about to receive a new content patch that’ll make every gamer happy. Well, everyone that can currently access the game. The Japanese-language trailer reveals the new Duman (Dewman) race, a new planet and, naturally, a horde of new loot, including the Katana and Bow.
The Episode 2 update will also unlock a second character for all players, the new maptype dubbed Coast, the Braver class type and more mobs to farm. Unconfirmed data mining suggests that new skills have been added alongside a skill tree revamp. The changes will result in skill reset items being distributed to players.
The four-plus-minute trailer is available after the cut with some accompanying screenshots. Western gamers remain holding their breath for their option to join the 2.5+ million players already collecting loot. SEGA revealed no news on the game’s anticipated North American launch at E3 2013, leaving the “delayed” state from mid-March as the most recent status.
Episode 2 will launch on July 17, 2013 for current audiences and introduce additional story elements. Continue Reading

Bethesda Softworks hit gamers with an announcement not nearly as surprising as the Red Wedding. As part of its E3 announcements, Bethesda revealed that its upcoming ‘more like a multiplayer The Elder Scrolls’ RPG is heading to the next-gen consoles in addition to the already-announced PC and Mac clients. The title will be available for all platforms in Spring 2014.
The new trailer showcases the amazing art direction of The Elder Scrolls Online. It’s all eye candy here folks. From environments to NPCs and player characters to the encroaching forces of oblivion. This isn’t a cinematic either. The latest trailer features tons of gameplay and combat from the adventurers attempting to save Tamriel.
Hit the cut for nearly two minutes of pure unadulterated awesome…and some screenshots. Need more TESO? Check out our exclusive interview on the holy trinity and more. Continue Reading

Turbine Entertainment had a busy schedule before the Memorial Day holiday, which I enjoyed immensely as I hope you did. But you’re not hear sheerly for pleasantries. You want the delectable details, succulent stills and vivacious video reveals from Infinite Crisis. The upcoming MOBA is unlocking new champions at a rapid fire pace. True, most of it has been focused on the Batman multiverse but it appears those bounds have been broken.
The most recent unveiling is Cyborg, the fallen athlete known as Victor Stone. Cyborg is best known as the quintessential superhero of DC Comics since the launch of “The New 52” in 2011. In game, he plays the role of a burst power-based ranged character. Each skill augments his hand cannon, unleashing health-based damage, debuffs, AoE damage and stuns, and a personal buff. His ultimate, well, it’s basically a perfectly-itemized shot.
Shazam, a electrified teenager, plays the unusual role of a melee power character with strong initiation and survivability. Those last two are mighty important because Shazam is a mere mortal. The Energy-based character relies on his high restoration to launch his attacks, crowd control, and AoE. Shazam features a two abilities as his third, which players can switch between to restore energy or increase power.
Check out both trailers and new art for Green Lantern after the jump.

I’ve no qualms about slipping in non-MMOG and non-MOBA titles into the mix of this blog. There’s a perfectly good reason for this. We Lore Hounds are out and about doing our utmost to entertain and inform. Sometimes this includes bringing games that, while not directly relevant to our normal coverage, would certainly interest all of you. Let’s be honest, that’s our real job here.
Late in April, we showcased an upcoming title from Ubisoft Montreal featuring cheeky humor and a spin on the popular tower defense genre. The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot interested many despite the trailer being just a reveal. Over the long weekend Ubisoft took the lid off the Archer.
Native skills include acrobatic dodging, ghost hawks and plenty of pointed shafts. To name just some of the ridiculousness. Have a look at the full review and additional assets after the cut. Players can take a shot at gaining access to the closed alpha testing by registering at the official website. Continue Reading

Turbine Entertainment is certainly a busy bee. The Massachusetts-based developer is continuing to produce a breathtaking amount of content for Lord of the Rings Online, its first MOBA, the upcoming Infinite Crisis, and Dungeons & Dragons Online. The company has even returned to its roots, patching the age old game that put it on the map Asheron’s Call and reviving its sequel.
Today, the company announced that the second expansion for DDO will be heading to servers near you on August 19. Originally announced way back in February, Shadowfell Conspiracy introduces two new Adventure Packs, Wheloon and Stormhorns, bringing a prison city and treacherous mountain passes to the Forgotten Realms.
Players that want Turbine to take their money early can allow the company to do so. If you crack that leather you’ll be rewarded with a collection of bonus items, from an extra character slot to a collection of cosmetic and companion characters.
Oh, and if you’re too excited to wait to head to Epic Level 28 Update 18: Disciplines of Shadow, rthe prequel to Shadowfell Conspiracy, went live today.
Check out the latest screenshots, including images of the pre-purchase items after the cut. The full list of pre-purchase items for Collector’s and Standard editions are keeping those images company behind that dangerous button.

That’s right, WildStar, the upcoming MMORPG from Carbine Studios with a whole lot of cheekiness has finally revealed its final two professions, so to speak. Known as Paths in WildStar, the Scientist and Settler have finally had their day to shine in a recent media blitz and we’ve got the official trailers after the cut.
The latest Devspeak video explains exactly what a Path is at length, using the already-revealed Explorer to titillate the audience. Then viewers are launched into a discussion about the other options for advanced character customization. The second trailer is more of a lore-based reveal of the Paths feature. It showcases the offbeat and hilarious writing and trailer ninja that’s become a staple to the WildStar community.
Just remember not to feel too special when using a Settlers structure. They’re not doing it to help you, but gain Path XP. The selfish jerks.
Both video reveals of Paths are after the cut followed by a collection of the latest screenshots for the upcoming NCSoft-published title. Continue Reading

It was a long wait for full English support of Anno Online, but the game is now out in the wild. Developed by Ubisoft subsidiary Ubisoft Blue Byte, the hive mind behind The Settlers, Anno Online adopts the title’s original medieval timeframe and maintains the strategy elements Blue Byte fans have come to expect.
This is the first of three browser games Ubisoft announced at Gamescom 2012 to enter the “launch” phase of free-to-play games.
Those of you lucky enough to get into the closed beta testing in late April will have the chance to earn two rewards. That’s on top of a head start, as there was no data wipe. All players can pimp out their city with a unique statue. Players who log in during the first week of open beta will also unlock a premium ship capable of carrying more freight faster.
If perks and a new game aren’t enough Blue Byte has sweetened the deal by detailing the first patch. The advanced Guild System will unlock larger strategic options between 25 other players including the Guild Hall building. Guilds will be added in mid-May.
Hit the jump for the latest assets for Anno Online. Continue Reading
