DotA 2 Overview

Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) or Dota game similar to League of Legends. Players select a hero and enter into a team vs team combat arena with the goal of destroying the opponents tower. Dota 2 allows players to select from many different heroes, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, that can be leveled up.

Blizzard Sues Valve over DOTA Trademark

It looks like Blizzard has finally filed the lawsuit against Valve to prevent them from trademarking the DOTA name. Blizzard is arguing that since DOTA was created using the Warcraft 3 Map Editor, and the mod cannot be played independently of War3, that it falls under their End User Licensing Agreement that  players agree to when using the
