Lord of the Rings Online is a MMORPG based off J.R.R Tolkiens novels Lord of the Rings. Lord of the Rings Online (LoTRO) was launched in April 2007 and continued to grow and develop over the years with multiple expansions.
As of September 10th, 2010, Lord of the Rings has become Free-to-Play, with in-game micro-transactions.
