I’ve been testing out my ability to make videos, and in the process created this: A “How To” guide for some particularly difficult achievements or activities. I use strategies that have worked for me, and that I think are beast best. In this first video, I go after Elder Nadox in Ahn’Kahet: The Old Kingdom in hopes of helping my friends nab the Respect Your Elders achievement as they finish up their Glory of the Hero Meta-Achievement.
Questions, comments? Feel free to criticize my ability to make videos, or leave suggestions to achievements you’d like to see me do. Even if I already have the achievement, I can still go back and redo it just for your pleasure.
I think it was a very good video instructionally and had some really good insights such as doing it as you did and how it’s been done and the pros and cons.
Only real criticism I have about it is that you sounded like an NPR radio show host who hasn’t had a cup of coffee yet lol. I would try maybe adding in some enthusiasm to your videos but hey, we are who we are, right?

I agree with Highwayman that it seemed a little dulled down. Not sure if it’s maybe because there are other people around and you don’t want to talk too loud or that’s just your natural voice. If it’s the first one maybe tell them that you’ll be recording something so they don’t think you’re crazy or wait till they all leave.
September 14th, 2010 at 6:36 pmOther than that though it was good. You didn’t leave any huge pauses and you covered everything. The only thing I would add is that you didn’t explain what the achievement is for in the video.
So yeah, try to boost your volume and don’t worry about letting your personality flow out. I look forward to seeing more! =]
