Jagex Games, creator of RuneScape, has announced the development of Stellar Dawn, a science fiction, browser-based MMORPG. The game is set for a 2011 launch and will feature both solo and team play, a vast world to explore, and a free-to-play microtransaction game model. The folks at Jagex say that Stellar Dawn will run on almost any PC with an internet connection. Closed beta applications are now being accepted.

Sources for this information please. Jagex’s CEO Mark Gerhard personally said that as long as he was there, Jagex would not release a micro-transactional game.
