RuneFest 2010 Announced

Jagex, the UK’s largest independent games company, has announced RuneFest 2010, which plans to be the biggest player event ever for the RuneScape community. RuneFest 2010 will be the first real-world player event of its size for the the company, and the UK.

RuneFest 2010 will be taking place on August 28th, 2010. The location of where the event will be held is currently unknown, but it has been described as “a very exciting central London venue.”

The event intends to replicate the RuneScape experience, with bringing various aspects of the game to life, such as featuring themed areas for players to experience real-world RuneScape activities.

Mark Gerhard, CEO of Jagex commented;

“The team is absolutely electric with enthusiasm for this event, we’ve always wanted to do a fan celebration for our players but crucially not just any old player convention – we insisted that it would be something that was not only different from tired conventions, but an intimate, memorable and naturally incredibly fun, festive fan celebration. This is certainly going to be a landmark event and one of the best parties we’ve ever had. The team and I are really excited about meeting and celebrating our biggest fans namely our epic community, we have also got a few surprises up our sleeve that I’m certain our players will love.”

Tickets for this event will go on sale later this month. For more information on RuneFest 2010, head on over to the official site.

  1. The official website has the following:

    “RuneFest will take place in London, UK, at a location we will announce shortly.”

  2. Funny thing about it is, the majority of their players are children, and they’re serving alcohol, so children, naturally can’t go. Yeah….Jagex will never be able to compete with Blizzard. And them serving alcohol just shows you how desparate they really are, they’re trying to make money, because they’re so very poor, simply because anyone who is not a moron knows that this RuneScape is one of the worst games ever invented! And it’s not because of the graphics, graphics are NOT the most important factor in a game. RuneScape just blows goats all around…

  3. If you dislike runescape so much why are you taking the time to find sites about it and disrespect them?

  4. This is going to be sooo shitty haha, I estimate no more than 200 attendees, and Jagex is probably cutting many of the events to save money they shouldn’t have spent. Their “epic” community is nothing but a mass of 12 year olds who don’t understand a terrible mmo when they see one.

  5. I am thirteen, and I cannot believe the way some adults think of kids my age. Just because some of us aren’t the brightest bulbs, it doesn’t mean that the rest of us can’t be mature and intelligent. Don’t write a bad review if you’ve only tasted one recipe; The others you might actually like after you’ve made them.

    Thank you for reading,

  6. For your information, Jagex has sold out RuneFest and the majority of Runescape’s players are adults. Jagex is doing fantastically competing with blizzard. Runescape is a great and unique mmo
