The Secret World: Fan-created Deck Builder

9 April 2012 | 1 Comment » | Pherephassa

I’ve been curious how long it would be before someone created a deck builder for The Secret World, Funcom’s upcoming modern MMORPG. And now I’ve had my answer. Poster the9thcircle on the official Secret World forums has provided an early version to play around with. It’s been built using the various images from recent videos, so not all of the abilities have been filled out yet, but hats off to you, the9thcircle for getting it going! I’m pretty sure I’m going to be spending a bit of time with this thing while I wait for the launch of The Secret World!

Want to play with it? You can go to the deck builder to start messing around with what’s there. the9thcircle is also asking for feedback and information to use in filling in the empty abilities on, so if you want to help out or give feedback, his post on the official forums is the place to go.

Diablo 3 Skill Calculator Released

15 September 2011 | No Comments » | LHStaff

Today Blizzard released the skill calculators for Diablo 3 where the first thing you’ll notice, if you’re familiar with D2, is that it’s not a skill tree system.  There are however still three groupings of skill types for each class, with a total of 20-25 skills per class.

The new system gives players six skill slots, two from the start then more as you level up, each with a rune slot to enhance that particular skill. There are a total of 5 runes types to choose from, with every rune being custom towards that particular skill, so it’s not just 5 runes total.

Passive skills have also been separated out, allowing player to choose 3 of 12 passive skills, with all passive skills being custom tailored for whatever class you selected.

One other thing you’ll notice is that the skill calculators only go to level 30, but Blizzard announced the cap would be 60, so I’m wondering what happens after 30. Are these not the final skill calculators? Do only attributes continue to increase after 30? I hope not, one of my favorite things about D2 was your skills constantly increased all the way up to level 99.
