Gazillion Entertainment is opening the doors to additional players for its ongoing closed beta testing of Marvel Heroes. The dungeon crawler RPG will be playable starting this Friday, April 26 at 8:00 PM EST. The servers will close up shop early Monday morning at 2:59 AM. Additional closed beta invites went out last night and into this morning, so check those inboxes.

The developer is requesting all players with a key be active during this week’s session. Marvel Heroes is rapidly approaching its June 4 full release and Gazillion wants to do all the bug smashing and implementing of community requests well in advance.

In addition to general gameplay, Gazillion will be providing players with in-game currency to engage in cash shop purchases. The company likely wants to deduce the most desired items and how the reception to the recent monetary change to Heroes and Costumes. Again. As gamers might expect, the cash, and all other progress, will be subject to a full wipe.

Le sigh.

Didn’t get a key? Grab a Founders pack to ensure beta access.

Marvel Heroes Rescinds PAX East 2013 Store Change

16 April 2013 | 1 Comment » | iTZKooPA

Back at PAX East 2013, Marvel Heroes held a panel to reveal a few specifics about their game. Lore Hound brought you the scoop on the release date of May 28 for Founders and June 4 for the average folk. In addition to such pertinent information, Gazillion Entertainment announced a crucial change to the F2P dungeon crawler’s cash shop.

The Founders packs that players were able to purchase specific groups of heroes would be modified at launch. Rather than being able to directly purchase specific heroes and costumes, players would randomly earn them from in-game loot drops. According to Gazillion, the decision has been reversed due to community feedback.

As originally planned, players will be able to snap up their favorite heroes, complete with their favorite costumes – no matter how ridiculous – for nominal fees. The scare of endless grinding for the correct combination has been removed. Even if it has just made life a tad more expensive.

I haven’t payed much attention to WildStar, but with Closed Beta starting, that might change.

If you haven’t signed up for Beta Access, you can do so by following this link:

http://www.wildstar-online.com/en/beta/

This Beta isn’t going to function like most “weekend” betas in which you can only play Friday night to Sunday night, as you’ll be able to log-in at your convenience for several weeks.

That should be plenty of time to check out all the factions, races, and classes that WildStar contains.

5 March 2013 | No Comments » | iTZKooPA

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios welcome adventurers to Icespire Peak, the most popular winter getaway in Neverwinter. Adventurers aren’t drawn to the wintery wonderland to hit the slopes and sip some joe. No, the first adventurers, the Icehammer dwarves, descended upon these lands as 49ers, mining its veins for gold and mithril. During the land’s excavation they discovered a portal to Winterforge.

And accidentally activated it.

The portal unleashed a horde of ice golems and an army of frost giants that quickly wrestled control away from the Icehammer clan. Now, their home in the possession of a fearsome foe, the Icehammer clan has requested the support of adventurers to reclaim their frozen kingdom.

Purchasing a Neverwinter Founder’s pack will guarantee immediate closed beta access, including this weekend’s beta. Can’t make it? Fear not, Lore Hound will be streaming our experience on TwitchTV starting Saturday, March 9 at 12:00 PM EST.
