Players aren’t just going to be experiencing a dungeon crawling MMOG when Marvel Heroes launches on June 4 (May 28 for Founders). No, no. Whether you’re an Iron Man fan or a webslinger, gamers will experience the full force of the Marvel universe, including original stories penned by none other than Brian Michael Bendis.
First shown in the recent PAX East interview, Gazillion Entertainment will not be using simple stills or quest dialog to inform the masses of the original story. Included in certain zone introductions and throughout the complex storylines will be ‘Motion Comics.’ The first of these episodes can be found after the cut.
Episode One of “Chronicles of Doom” features the beginning of Doctor Doom’s rise to power, the beginning lore of Marvel Heroes. Check out the 2+ minute trailer after the cut. Continue Reading

Otherwise, prepare yourself for new characters, challenges and dynamic zone destruction. Let’s not forget that Gazillion has listened to player feedback adamantliy (correct by the editor!), modifying such important systems as the real-money transaction shop based on community feedback.

Gazillion Entertainment is opening the doors to additional players for its ongoing closed beta testing of Marvel Heroes. The dungeon crawler RPG will be playable starting this Friday, April 26 at 8:00 PM EST. The servers will close up shop early Monday morning at 2:59 AM. Additional closed beta invites went out last night and into this morning, so check those inboxes.
The developer is requesting all players with a key be active during this week’s session. Marvel Heroes is rapidly approaching its June 4 full release and Gazillion wants to do all the bug smashing and implementing of community requests well in advance.
In addition to general gameplay, Gazillion will be providing players with in-game currency to engage in cash shop purchases. The company likely wants to deduce the most desired items and how the reception to the recent monetary change to Heroes and Costumes. Again. As gamers might expect, the cash, and all other progress, will be subject to a full wipe.
Didn’t get a key? Grab a Founders pack to ensure beta access.

Back at PAX East 2013, Marvel Heroes held a panel to reveal a few specifics about their game. Lore Hound brought you the scoop on the release date of May 28 for Founders and June 4 for the average folk. In addition to such pertinent information, Gazillion Entertainment announced a crucial change to the F2P dungeon crawler’s cash shop.
The Founders packs that players were able to purchase specific groups of heroes would be modified at launch. Rather than being able to directly purchase specific heroes and costumes, players would randomly earn them from in-game loot drops. According to Gazillion, the decision has been reversed due to community feedback.
As originally planned, players will be able to snap up their favorite heroes, complete with their favorite costumes – no matter how ridiculous – for nominal fees. The scare of endless grinding for the correct combination has been removed. Even if it has just made life a tad more expensive.

I haven’t payed much attention to WildStar, but with Closed Beta starting, that might change.
If you haven’t signed up for Beta Access, you can do so by following this link:
This Beta isn’t going to function like most “weekend” betas in which you can only play Friday night to Sunday night, as you’ll be able to log-in at your convenience for several weeks.
That should be plenty of time to check out all the factions, races, and classes that WildStar contains.
Read on to find our recent interview we had with WildStar at PAX East ’13. Continue Reading

The revamped UI.
Gazillion Entertainment Creative Director David Brevik and creator of Diablo II sits down with iTZKooPA to discuss the development progress of his latest hack-n-slash dungeon crawler Marvel Heroes. Recent beta improvements include a much cleaner heads-up display, the doubling of available powers and the addition of a new crafting feature. All are covered in the interview.
David discusses the design decision behind breaking away from the holy trinity, both for gameplay and IP reasons. The newly announced Motion Comics – lore presented before and during specific missions – were touched upon. Amazingly, there’s over an hour of these lore pieces.
Marvel Heroes will launch May 28 for Founder members and June 4 for F2P members.
Hit the cut for all the juicy details, including new gameplay of Thor and Storm.

Looking for a new action RPG to sink some time into? Everlight, the latest fantasy action RPG from F2P developer KoramGame may suit your fancy. After spending an extended period of time in its closed beta phase, the title is heading to open beta on Thursday, March 14.
Set in a fantasy world, the title takes a slice out of crafting of The Secret World acknowledging that they myths and folklore we’re familiar with are a reality. Focused on four main classes, players will hack-and-slash their way through Atlantis. Heavily influenced by Eastern cultures and game design, Everlight includes an anime art style, customization and rather quirky features like a Horoscope system.
“We had a superb CBT with over 10,000 participants who really helped us iron out the bugs and improve the game to provide smoother game play. There were plenty of bugs so it wasn’t an easy job and we really appreciate all the time, effort and feedback from everyone who participated in the CBT.” said Everlight General Manager, Jiming Zhao. “We’re now moving forward to the Open Beta and after the success of the CBT we can’t wait open the servers for our fans.”

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios welcome adventurers to Icespire Peak, the most popular winter getaway in Neverwinter. Adventurers aren’t drawn to the wintery wonderland to hit the slopes and sip some joe. No, the first adventurers, the Icehammer dwarves, descended upon these lands as 49ers, mining its veins for gold and mithril. During the land’s excavation they discovered a portal to Winterforge.
And accidentally activated it.
The portal unleashed a horde of ice golems and an army of frost giants that quickly wrestled control away from the Icehammer clan. Now, their home in the possession of a fearsome foe, the Icehammer clan has requested the support of adventurers to reclaim their frozen kingdom.
Purchasing a Neverwinter Founder’s pack will guarantee immediate closed beta access, including this weekend’s beta. Can’t make it? Fear not, Lore Hound will be streaming our experience on TwitchTV starting Saturday, March 9 at 12:00 PM EST.
