29 May 2013 | 14 Comments » | Patrick "iTZKooPA" Mulhern

And now Marvel Heroes is in the spotlight for it’s first bit of bad news. After wrapping up open beta testing in the earlier half of May and beginning the run up to Doctor Doom’s rise to power, Marvel Heroes is experiencing its first bit of unspinnable bad news. Gazillion Entertainment announced yesterday that the Founders launch date of yesterday, May 28, has been delayed.

Mr. David Brevik, the Creative Director of Gazillion Entertainment, went to the blog to deliver the bad news. Brevik and his team promised “We will not leave this studio until you can play the game.” The culprit? An undisclosed “serious issue” that the team found late last week and has worked on for 96 hours in preparation of launch.

There hasn’t been a follow up since the post late yesterday evening. We’ll have more as it comes.

Marvel Heroes Rescinds PAX East 2013 Store Change

16 April 2013 | 1 Comment » | Patrick "iTZKooPA" Mulhern

Back at PAX East 2013, Marvel Heroes held a panel to reveal a few specifics about their game. Lore Hound brought you the scoop on the release date of May 28 for Founders and June 4 for the average folk. In addition to such pertinent information, Gazillion Entertainment announced a crucial change to the F2P dungeon crawler’s cash shop.

The Founders packs that players were able to purchase specific groups of heroes would be modified at launch. Rather than being able to directly purchase specific heroes and costumes, players would randomly earn them from in-game loot drops. According to Gazillion, the decision has been reversed due to community feedback.

As originally planned, players will be able to snap up their favorite heroes, complete with their favorite costumes – no matter how ridiculous – for nominal fees. The scare of endless grinding for the correct combination has been removed. Even if it has just made life a tad more expensive.
