Player HiBes and iTZKooPA took a shot in the dark and teamed up to see if they could play against or with HiRezBart during this afternoon’s SMITE stream. The dynamic duo, as seen in a previous consistently losing stream with HiRezDuke, succeeded where so many others have failed. Teamed with HiRezBart playing Artemis, iTZKooPA glass cannoned with Anubis and HiBes went Sir Ganks Alot Loki (that needs to be a skin btw).
Do they win? Will HiBes be banned? Did a Kali 2013 Convention Skin get given away?! You’ll have to watch to find out!
Above you have the official Lore Hound Twitch TV stream. After the cut you can jump to 1:12:00 in the SmiteGame stream to see Bart’s take on the madness. Continue Reading
Just moments ago, HiRezBart, the eSports Manager for Hi-Rez Studios, teased the latest god heading to the fields of combat in SMITE, Bacchus. The adopted name by Romans for Dionysus, the Greek god of ritual madness and ecstasy, Bacchus could be developed multiple ways. It’ll be interesting to see which way Hi-Rez goes with the god of winemaking, wine and the grape harvest.
Based on his lore, Bacchus could easily be given three uniquely different roles. A generic support role featuring a multitude of disables, given his penchant for distracting others with his parties. A mind-control mage role that hasn’t been seen in SMITE yet. Or even more uncommon to the MOBA universe at large, a minion summoner, thanks to Bacchus commonly being followed by a procession (he brings his own party).
What’s your guess?
Regardless of who turns out to be correct, we won’t have to wait long. HiRezBart will be unveiling Bacchus as part of today’s 3:00 PM EST SMITE stream.
COO of Hi-Rez Studios Todd Harris chilled with iTZKooPA as they went over what has recently come to the “fastest shooter” on the planet and what is coming in the near future. The duo began by quickly discussing how the ‘Blitz’ update has changed the tactics of Tribes: Ascend players in the new rotating CTF mode and additional maps.
Harris went on to detail the company’s plans for the immediate future, including further eSports support, additional streaming and shoutcasting, continued class updates and maps. He even discussed a few ideas not to expect, including the addition of the asset-farmed vehicles discussed a while back.
Hit the cut for the full interview, complete with HiRezBart getting owned. Repeatedly. Continue Reading
iTZKooPA didn’t let eSports Manager Bart Koenigsberg rest his vocals too long after shoutcasting. No, no, the community demanded that the eSports manager spill the beans on recent SMITE updates and the reception the title has had among the world’s elite gamers.
Focusing on the title’s impending release and expected acceptance in the eSport world, the duo discussed recent game changes, including the recent Cupid patch, the addition of ranked matches, the upcoming availability of 5v5 organized matches and the overall growth of SMITE. 500,000 accounts and the title is still in closed beta!
