This episode is longer than we anticipated, but that’s just more Lore goodness for you viewers! If you missed Monday’s Episode 1, you can click here to watch it before you watch this one.
As Mordil and iTZKooPA conducted their interview (coming up soon), I was offered the chance to join a few of my PAX media brethren in playing one of TERA‘s many dungeons, “The Necromancers Cell.” The developers sat me swiftly down in a room with three other media members, and one of the developers then briefly explained that the dungeon we were in was one that is found sometime later in the game, and that we would be going after one of the bosses in the dungeon.
As fate would have it, I would be providing the role of the tank, playing as an Amani Lancer. The Lancer class is one of the eight classes you can play in TERA, sporting heavy armor, an over-sized shield, and of course, a lance. I was pretty sure that this guy could take more than few blows. The team was a classic five-man team consisting of me as the tank, the three other PAX media members as the DPS, and the developer playing the role of the healer.
As we started, one of the first things I noticed was TERA‘s amazing art style and smooth textures, although we were in a dark and “spooky” dungeon, everything just looked top notch – even each character’s armor looked very in-depth and detailed. As we started our first pull to get us accustomed to the controls of the game and to get a general feel for it, I realized that this was not like any other MMO I had played before. Continue Reading
PAX Prime 2011 is now at a close after day 3, but not without some last executions for skipping lines, getting torched by a flamethrower, and cool statues coming to life.
While filming the Rayman interview at the very vibrant and colorful Ubisoft booth, the Just Dance 3 music was playing and Mordil couldn’t get enough of it to resist from dancing. Just like Beararms who couldn’t resist picking up a “pimp” cane and hat to pose for a profile picture.
Finally, as the last homage to PAX, as people were getting kicked out and lights turned on, the employees at the Hi-Rez Studios booth had a little fun with extra promotional stickers by placing them on none other than unsuspecting Mordil. Toting around stickers everywhere in random places on his body, Mordil showed his Hi-Rez love by doing free advertising for 3 blocks to the car for the drive home.
Check out the gallery and FireFall’s animated statue after the break. Stay tuned for a full FireFallinterview later this week.
With Friday in the bag, Saturday comes up with a routine more set in, and more time to spare, allowing us to wait in those pesky lines.
Firefall was our major attraction and coverage of the day, with the interviewed being well spoken and taking the camera time to have what iTZKooPa coined “masturbation of the mouth”. We even managed to hit the “Holy Grail” at PAX Prime: Skyrim (if you don’t get that, you’re not trying hard enough).
On the way out the door, we ran into our good pal from Star Wars, R2-D2 and Beararms felt he needed some lovin’. Finishing off the long day with a late night of the annual PAX Prime Jonathan Coulton Concert. Continue Reading
Continuing with giving you a teaser of photographic content to keep you thirsty for more as we polish off the content we have for you to grasp onto until release dates happen, here is Day 1 of PAX Prime 2011.
Day 1 was filled with a busy schedule as we ran as a pack of wolves with delicious prey to each booth to meet our appointments, ultimately in the end missing a few. Our schedules booked all day, we found only little downtime to meet with our old friends at Hi-Rez Studios and Riot Games, creators of Global Agenda and League of Legends .
Beararms managed to hop on a DDO station as we were in the area for an appointment, to recreate his infamous D&D character, Adam Grizzlys, visually. Along with a surprise of Batman: Imposters booth babe, and the bright lights, we Lorehounds managed to see a ton of things this year in one day. Continue Reading

Much like the Vol’jin: The Judgement, Gelbin Mekkatorque: Cut Short explains one of the more shadowed leaders encountered in World of Warcraft. I must admit that I, unlike iTZKooPA, cannot say that I’ve ever had a soft spot for Gnomes. Ever in the lifetime of my gaming, I’ve never cared for them in any way, shape, or form beyond the fact that they have a superior intellect and actually care for safety in their inventions, unlike their Goblin counterparts.
Being one who was always happy to jump into a “Gnome Punting” joke session, when I saw this short story released, I was slightly hesitant to read it. But, despite that, it surprised me in a few spots.
I remember it wasn’t long ago that all us Alliance players were jumping into Operation Gnomeregan. Again, like with the troll counterpart, there was some lore explained and furthered through this mini-world event — however I felt that the Troll event was done in a way that players actually understood what was going on. I felt in Operation Gnomeregan that not much was taken back – considering I still need to run Gnomeregan as a dungeon to claim it from the Troggs. The end boss has always been Thermaplugg, but I never knew why. And considering that he… disappears in the short story, it still doesn’t correlate to the dungeon changing ever.
It was to my surprise to learn in this short story that Thermaplugg was indeed a close and dear friend of Mekkatorque – akin to the Anakin / Obi-Wan construct. Thermaplugg saw a twisted view of the world and wanted to build it for himself, and Mekkatorque wasn’t willing to go along with it, so he had to be eliminated. Continue Reading
