Halo MMO - It would have been on the list had it ever come out.
Ladies and germs, you’ve likely been following the writers of LoreHound.com for quite some time (If not, welcome aboard!). We’ve introduced ourselves, talked about our time in World of Warcraft, discussed our past and even revealed the origins behind our now-familiar names. But what we haven’t done is reveal how we got here.
How is it that we went from players to bloggers? Was World of Warcraft our first drug, or just the latest taste? Exactly how long have we been in the MMOG scene? Are we newcomers with a penchant for deep discussion, or are we long-standing players well-versed in the genre? Perhaps we’re casual sight seers, whetting our palate with a smorgasbord of flavors and diverse textures. You’ll gain insight and answers from my personal timeline (dates are when I played). Kershocker
Is there a better way to start my blogging career than letting you all know about my gaming background? I don’t think so, but somehow someone is going to come up with a better idea in the comments and I’ll end up looking really rogue-ish silly.

Oh well, let me introduce myself first. My name is Carlos, also known as Kershocker. Some of you may recognize that name. If so, that’s because I’ve been following this website since it was launched and I like sharing my opinions with others. I’m currently living in Peru and I’m studying Economics and International Business at the university.
Follow me after the cut to learn more about my gaming years.
I’m pretty sure most of us did not play MMORPGs during our childhood. Well, I didn’t, anyway. During that time, I was deeply in love with console games. Super Nintendo and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers kept me busy for a while until the Nintendo 64 came along, with Star Fox 64 being my game of choice.
After that, I was forced to stay away from video games for a couple of years due to some health issues. I came back during the PlayStation 2 era, which I really enjoyed. Guitar Hero, God of War and Devil May Cry are amazing games. Most recently, the PlayStation 3 came out and I bought it immediately upon release. What can I say? PlayStation is my favorite console.
I’m only 18, so, as you may imagine, I have not played as many MMOGs as my fellow Lore Hounds. Still, I think it would be interesting to recap my history just to let you know I’m not a complete rookie when it comes to video games. Continue Reading

Mordil

Mordil in 1.5 years
With the ashes settling down, and the mundane routine of life returning to normal fluctuations , I return to speak on my video game repertoire .
Looking back, just as iTZKooPA has, I realized just how many MMOs I’ve tasted.
Interestingly enough, Mortal Kombat on the SNES was the first video game I ever played. I was around five (Ed. Note *gasp!*). I used to drive my older brother insane by pulling out these advanced combo attacks on him. I had the unfair advantage to learn throughout the day while he was at school (no pre-school FTW!). From there my gaming habits moved to Mario and Star Fox.
I slid my foot in the industry off and on with consoles years ago. From PS2, I bought a GameCube, then an X-Box. I was a conservative, yet well-versed gamer, switching from Ps2 to X-Box due to exclusives and needing cash for more titles – thank you GameStop. In the end, I only to ended up selling them all when I was first introduced to World of Warcraft. I haven’t looked back since. There’s an occasional game here and there that catches my eye, but usually there’s a PC version that I can buy; Assassin’s Creed being was the most recent franchise. Continue Reading

Mordil
T
here are many things that can become tragedies in one’s life. In this Know Thy Blogger, I shall go more in depth of my experiences outside of gaming rather than my history, as something that shall effect the rest of my life just happened.
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. From midnight to 3 AM reports were made of explosions and concussion waves being heard across town. At 3 AM the local Fire Departments from three towns around us were summoned to tackle the fire that engulfed the entire building in around 3 hours.
Last Sunday, my mother found a make-shift Molotov Cocktail that had failed to be thrown into the building, and now this has happened. For months, people’s cars have been broken into during church sessions, and members who live nearby the building have had their cars broken into right outside of their homes (my mother’s was, and her scriptures were taken).
ATF gave their verdict of arson later that afternoon. Continue Reading

Ronix
After a gentle nudge from iTZKooPA, I figured it’s about time to properly introduce myself to the Lore Hound community. As a fellow gamer and an avid disciple of the MMO genre, I am excited to have this opportunity to share my views and experiences with a wide range of opinionated people. I often find reading the comments on web columns just as interesting (if not more) as the articles themselves. Here’s to future banter and discussions! *toasts
Without further ado, I bring to you…
Subject #46231593 Profile
Alias: Ronix
Origin: Unknown
Description: Gamer, Writer, Commercial avatar editor
Case Study
Even before being committed to the institution, the patient has displayed a strong affinity for video games. This is likely to stem from the fact that he enjoyed reading books from a young age, fantasy being the preferred genre. To Ronix [Note: Alias, see above], video games revealed the promise of interactive worlds where the player himself was a key driver of events. Ever since being introduced to the media by a game called Doom, rapid degradation was only a matter of time.
The allure of gaming grew more powerful when the subject discovered a particular subgenre – Massive Multiplayer Online Games (Note: MMOGs as referred to by other contaminated). Continue Reading
