RaiderZ Celebrates Valentine’s Day with…Weaponized Gambling (Feb 6-27)

7 February 2013 | No Comments » | iTZKooPA

Alright. There we go, some spice in the seasonal events from MAIET Entertainment. After rather uninspired Halloween and Thanksgiving events – heck, they didn’t even have Rendel-based nomenclatures – MAIET Entertainment is shaking things up with Valentine’s Day. That’s not to say you can’t get mushy. There’s plenty of that too.

RaiderZ is already chock full o’ love and will continue to be filled with hearts and red until February 27. The lovey-dovey activities include love-themed quests, heart-shaped boxes and even a Chocolate Broomstick Mount that bestows a certain cherub’s special abilities.

For those that enjoy a little Anti-Valentine’s Day celebration (or you can take this as a Lunar New Year festival since that’s what it really is), RaiderZ bestows upon you Weaponized Gambling. Taking advantage of the beat-a-mob-with-its-own-limb system, all monster will have a chance of dropping a “Yut Game Set,” a popular Korean board game. Players can beat the next monster into submission with a Yut Stick, awarding them a random buff.

From one form of red to another. At least they both come from the heart. *aww*

Hit the jump for your dose of digital romance.

Q’s Winter Wonderland Prizes Sticking Around Until January 31

9 January 2013 | No Comments » | iTZKooPA

Q’s Winter Wonderland, the holiday event for Star Trek Online, will be winding down on January 14, but that doesn’t mean the end to the festivities. Not entirely at least. Players won’t be able to partake in the season events, such as snowball fights or running the races, but the rewards from the event will remain available until January 31 around 12:00 PM PST.

Thanks to those entrepreneurial Ferengi, players will be able to purchase Q’s Appreciation Package and the Holiday Collectible Bundle for 5 Lobi each until we approach February. The appreciation package will continue to reward purchasers with 2-6 Autographed 8×10 Glossy Photos of Q that act as middle currency to the sought after and expensive Breen Chel Grett Warship. The Holiday Collectible Bundle will follow its previous worth as well, enabling purchasers to acquire various seasonal fare.

Good luck gathering the 1,000 glossies before time runs out!

Neverwinter Unveils Great Weapon Fighter Class

8 January 2013 | No Comments » | iTZKooPA

Massively got the scoop on the latest class reveal to come from Neverwinter. Cryptic Studios unveiled the Great Weapon Fighter – rather than the Guardian Fighter – for its upcoming action-oriented MMORPG earlier today. The class is clad in medium or heavy armor and equipped with a Cloudesque two-handed sword. Despite the strong armor options, the class makes more use of its sword than its defenses.

Primarily a damage dealer and secondary defender, the great fighter is a benefit to have on your side in any situation. Spells like Roar, Slam and Avalanche of Steel offer a variety of support techniques including slows, knockbacks and crowd control.

Check out a handful of screenshots on the Great Weapon Fighter and the official reveal trailer after the cut.

Cryptic Studios Showcases Blackdagger Ruins & Vellosk

4 January 2013 | No Comments » | iTZKooPA

Cryptic Studios is starting the new year off right, showcasing Neverwinter. The upcoming F2P action-oriented MMORPG is approaching swiftly with on-going closed beta testing. But in case any of us forgot, Cryptic sent out a new batch of media featuring two of the title’s more important zones.

We’ve caught a glimpse of Blackdagger Ruins previously, thanks to the Blackdagger Keep trailer. This isn’t the first we’ve seen of Vellosk in Neverwinter either. The area of Vellosk is rooted in werewolf mythos, rather than the undead pirates of Blackdagger Keep. Considering the screenshots focus on battles with bosses, the trailers are definitely worth a gander for landscape and environmental impressions.

Check it all after the cut. Neverwinter is preparing for an early 2013 release. Continue Reading

Trickster Rogue Sneaks Into Neverwinter

19 December 2012 | No Comments » | iTZKooPA

Cryptic Studios has officially unveiled the Trickster Rogue, a lightly armored agile damage machine. The reveal trailer showcases some of the early abilities for the class, including the basic attack, a variation of a backstab and the importance of evading for the squishy damage dealer.

Leaked last month, the Trickster Rogue is the third class to be given a full reveal by Cryptic Studios. Those more fond of standing toe-to-toe with an enemy or launching magics at them can do their dirty work with the Control Wizard or Guardian Fighter. Last up on the planned launch classes is the Devoted Cleric to round out the holy trinity.

RaiderZ Gets Original with Holiday Festivities (Seasonal Event)

13 December 2012 | No Comments » | iTZKooPA

Palette swap, but still uber cute.

Released just before ThanksgivingRaiderZ didn’t hit have too much on hand for that holiday. Hardly more than its Halloween offering, an MMOG season staple. It’s follow-up for Thanksgiving wasn’t all that much more inventive, leaving much to be desired. With a few months under its belt, tweaks and patches out the door and a more solidified community MAIET Entertainment and Perfect World Entertainment have put together the best seasonal event for the fledgling community.

From yesterday, December 12, 2012 until January 2, 2013, players can partake in a variety of winter festivities around Rendel. Challenges and monster hunting are just some of the tasks, each with special rewards. Seeing as RaiderZ is a F2P game based on item shop transactions, you better believe there are some frivolous items for sale!

Players can obtain a smattering of season rewards, including two new mounts, Winker and Ruker. Monster kills may award Christmas Cards, craftable to earn a Sock Package full of other goodies. Neverwinter Character Customization Up to Cryptic Standards

7 December 2012 | No Comments » | iTZKooPA

Cryptic Studios has been known as producing the most robust character customization options in the MMORPG universe. Titles since its original production, City of Heroes, to creating your own alien race in Star Trek Online, has repeatedly allowed critics and gamers alike to levy praise for its character creator. Cryptic hopes Neverwinter will be the latest success.

Stuck in the intellectual property of Dungeons & Dragons, Neverwinter can’t have the ridiculous scenarios that, say, Champions Online was capable of. D&D does present multiple avenues of customization in terms of perks, racial abilities and stats.

Appearance, you ask? TrailTurtle covered that as well. The titles from Cryptic’s past should give players “a sense of how many options you’ll have in Neverwinter.” Reduce the infernal appearance of you tiefling, or add additional tattoos, horns and scars to make him more fearsome. It’s all up to you.

Celebrating the Holidays in Star Trek Online (Seasonal Event)

3 December 2012 | 1 Comment » | iTZKooPA

And it begins. Like the Halloween season a few months before it, the encroaching swath of religious holidays means that makers of massive multiplayer online games are launching their respective celebrations. First to post details and begin its event – at least that I discovered earlier today – is how we’ll be celebrating the holiday season while traversing the stars. Star Trek Online and its updated ‘Q’s Winter Wonderland’ will begin Thursday, December 6 around 10:00 AM (likely PST, but unreported as of press).

Q’s Winter Wonderland will run until January 14, 2013 also around 10:00 AM.

The developers in charge of seasonal affairs has created a new gazebo for players to celebrate, mingle and shop from. Players can follow new signs for special events or simply head out into the snow to explore. But be warned, you’ll need to warm up your throwing arm for an almost guaranteed snowball fight. Q has concocted a new endurance-style race that will award first thru third with special rewards and “a token award” for all finishers. The prize, new epohh tags to breed winter epohhs.

All winter activities remain as part of Q’s Winter Wonderland 2012. Hit the jump for all the teaser screenshots.
