I was actually describing the game to a friend the other day, and this was one of the key points I brought up about MxO. Of all MMOs I’ve played over the years, it was one of the most memorable. Shame it’s not there anymore. :\

If I remember correctly, I picked up UO back in 98. Made a character, went in and promptly got rofflestomped by a dragon…3 times.

After that, I played a mechwarrior game but mostly PvE since PvP was so limited as in not many played it.

A futuristic flying tank game (can’t remember the name of it) that had one expansion pack which was fun for a long time. Till the folks I played with stopped playing.

Then it was WoW about four years ago and haven’t looked back since.

Koopa, if you’re having problems getting into PvP, might I sincerely reccomend some protret pally pvp? It’s insanely fun to watch nasty lil’ rogues eat 10k avenger sheild crits!

Gotcha. I’ll start tomorrow on the tanky tank. Should be interesting, since my “co-mains” in WoW are a spriest and protpally. Tanking pugs sucks; tanking with friends rocks.

Fighter and Paladin are both acceptable, as long as you pick the tanking “spec”

Ok. I’ll roll a tank and for giggles a rogue. Is there any particular tanking class you would recommend? Barbarian, Warrior… IIRC possibly Paladin?

I’ll be starting the toons over the weekend. If past experience with my rogue (on another realm) is any indication, I should be able to solo up to lvl 3.

I would say play whatever you want, but if it doesn’t matter to you, I would recommend a tank, our only heavy armor class is technically DPS.

Cool. I’ll be rolling a new toon on Khyber soon. Is there any particular class you are needing? Rogue? Got enough tanks? Healer perhaps?

And you wonder why you always die during the DDO runs! The runs were on hiatus due to all the traveling, will be coming back in August.
