Why is Anyone Grinding Gear Ahead of Warlords of Draenor?

Posted on Oct 28, 2014

I never understood the reasoning behind massive returns shortly before an MMORPG expansion. For the most part, everything previous to the expansion is simply abandoned. Content, gear, storylines, freaking everything. Without events like the Operation Gnomeregan or the devastation of all of Azeroth (thanks, Deathwing), which were fantastic ideas, there’s zero reason from a story [&hellip

WoW, I’ve Made A Huge Mistake

Posted on Oct 21, 2014

This is up there with Gob’s largest, most hilarious faux pahs. Unfortunately for me and my friends, this is one that will drastically alter our dynamic. It won’t be funny. You see, I’ve resubscribed to my first true life-altering MMORPG addiction. That’s right, the gem that spawned Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft and remains the most successful of [&hellip

Why Does Blizzard Still Push WoW into eSports?

Posted on Sep 30, 2014

Running through my blogroll today I came across a blurb from Kim Phan on World of Warcraft and eSports. Phan, Blizzard’s senior manager of eSports that’s been around the arena since the Warcraft III era (possibly earlier), admitted that WoW 3v3 Arena is “kind of hard to watch”. It’s no shock that Blizzard, one of the earliest [&hellip

Can Your Machine Run Warlords of Draenor?

Posted on Sep 25, 2014

I partly got into the computer industry because of video games. Back in the 90s it was almost a requirement to be a PC gamer. From hacking INI files to dealing with the archaic networking protocols being able to deal with technology was part of the fun! That’s all behind me now. In the 10s [&hellip

How Long Do You Play a Game?

Posted on Aug 14, 2014

The upcoming tenth anniversary of World of Warcraft has me thinking about the shelflife that games have with me. After the rampant glee of a return to Molten Core for a Perdition’s Blade subsided my next thought was “Holy F&*#, I’ve been playing this game for a long a$$ time!” I then proceeded to spend the next [&hellip

You Had Me At Molten Core 40-man

Posted on Aug 07, 2014

Oh, my god. Oh, my god. OH. MY. GOD! I’m currently waving my hands back and forth and lightly switching my weight from one foot to the other in the most girlish way possible. This emasculating display to my cat is due to the revelation of the upcoming events for the World of Warcraft Tenth Anniversary celebration. [&hellip

Nickel-and-Diming – A Rant About Microtransactions

Posted on Jun 24, 2014

I’d like to preface this rant with a disclaimer: Don’t misunderstand me – I’m craving the mount; the hoarder in me begs that I get this for myself. I would impulsively do so, if it wasn’t for the price tag. You know what truly grinds my gears bothers me? When a company sells  merchandise for [&hellip
