E3 2010: Star Wars: The Old Republic Gameplay Demo

I have to say that I am finding it hard to be objective when it comes to reporting Star Wars: The Old Republic information now. Each time I hear more about the game I find myself anticipating it even more anxiously – and I think you’ll agree with me after you see the Star Wars: The Old Republic gameplay demo videos below, provided exclusively by G4.

It’s broken down into three parts for TV, with the first segment being a general overview of the game and the recent announcement of player starships. The second section concentrates on showing some of a combat mission, and the last segment is perhaps the most intriguing of all, as it shows a little of the origin planet gameplay of the Sith classes. Part of the reason I am enjoying SWTOR coverage so much this E3 is that they are stressing both the fact of the game being fully voiced – something I am very much in favour of for RPGs in general, and am hoping becomes something other MMOs aspire to – and that the combat animations, even when the character is not technically using an attack, are fluid and match quite well with the enemies. More interactive combat animations are something that I’ve mentioned before here at MMOCrunch, and I’m glad to see that BioWare is going in that direction.
