The original glitch in the computer world was a literal bug in the system, a moth as the story goes. May I submit to you that latest bug to add to the ever-growing list.
I’d only progressed halfway through Ubisoft Montreal’s latest adventure when I flipped my way to The Observatory. The room looked fairly straightforward, flip to the pull switch, activate the astrolabe and use it to vault my way to freedom. Unfortunately, the switch required to control the astrolabe doesn’t rise with the platform, as evidenced in this walkthrough video. Just an emblem with some mysterious smokey fire (that’s usually inside the switch).
I was unlucky in locating any mention of the bug via Google. This leads me to believe that the issue isn’t widespread. Short of restarting the game (or cheating), I cannot progress any further. This is really unfortunate because I am supposed to review the game!
I’ve reached out to Ubisoft Montreal for comment. I can only assume that a patch is in the works.
[Update]
A reader was kind enough to upload his save game file that includes the much needed switch. I’ve yet to try it myself, but a handful of members have already moved beyond the Astrolabe thanks to the file.
Let’s see, all we needed was a different save game to remedy the issue. Doesn’t seem that hard to address/fix Ubisoft!

I’ve confirmed that the file does unlock the long lost switch (and that the file is virus/spyware free, as far as my tools can tell). Many thanks to Asilo for the upload. Now, I am off to complete and review the game…

Ubisoft’s reply is that this is not a bug, and that the solution “is either covered in the manual, or is available via another source such as the Ubisoft forums”. I have pointed them to this video – will update if I get any other comments from them.

I have a similar problem in another level -The Fortress Courtyard. After defeating a huge guy I climbed around the room and activated a door. Behind the door are a series of swinging pike logs that eventually got me killed. The problem is that the checkpoint placed me behind the recently activated door, which is now closed with no visible ways to reactivate it. It’s located on a high platform with a railing and any attempts to jump over or down or across have resulted in death with return to the same checkpoint. Any ideas? Has anyone else found this?

@Wiseman, i know your pain! I had to REDO the whole game up to that point, but what i did was to make a backup of the save game as i went along.(only way, i know of, i’m afraid) HOwever, i am stuck now where this little bugger up is with the missing lever in the Observatory; and i can safely say “it’ll be a cold day in hell before i reply the whole game”, because my last save game i have, is just as i come into the observatory(before the first lever is pulled).
If a patch doesn’t fix it, then the whole game can kiss bye bye!

Same problem here in Observatory too. But in my case, the lever is UP, above my head, appears but is up and i cant reach it. Game looks like has many bugs. UBI screw it this time i think.

i got this same problem ,just like wisemen. the door after the first encounter with that huge beast wont open.the lever for activating it is way beyond reach, and any attempt to switch it is useless…i mean u just cant reach it ! disgusting …simply disgusting guyss… nd on top of that i forgot to keep any last save backup files..so its like “TATA” …or i h’ve gotta replay the game frm the very beginning again! :(

So I just renamed 4.save to 4.bak and started the game. I’m now standing in the observatory right after the hang-level was pulled and the switch that comes out of the floor is there.
Problem solved! :)

Yeah..If you are experienced in PoP-FS you would come observatory in 3 –maybe 4 hours. It worths for PoP :))

Yes I tried searching already. Folder 4 seems to be the only place with 4.save file. It’s very weird. I even tried uninstalling everything and reinstal it but somehow when I start the game the ‘continue’ option is still there and when I choose it, it put me back to the same place :S Anyway, thx for your help :) Guess I really have to wait for a patch

Guys m stuck at a stage after the observatory :( i dnt remember the name but i’ll try to xplain.here v need to walk on ice(freezed water) on the left side and hold on a stream of water to jump on to another stream of water which starts after we unfreez the stream v r holding onto.the problem is v never reach to the 2nd stream :( :X i have tried sum 100s of time but it never jumped onto the 2nd stream.does anybody successfully crossed this level ? please gimme the saveed file if u guys have :( i wud b very thankful to u.

Hi vineethIf u could see carefully u will have a perpendicular water wall… so u need to leave freeze and then try freezing after you cross the wall. After crossing u will get the next water pipe…. timing is very important.

BUT this helped mine:
Go to: SAVED DATA UTILITY ps3
And if you have more than one saving point in prince of Persia delete the latest one. You won’t start off where you last left but it won’t be starting from scratch. Mine was just a couple levels back
One you press “play” in the game, it will say the last saving point was “corrupt” or something like that so, so it will give you another option. Which work.

I hv the same problem as explained by Rahulk. Instead of POP stuck in desert, when I jump from a poll activated by a lever the prince gets stuck in the sky , if opted for jumping, he dies.
I hv contacted UB soft support team and after lot of communications, they suggested that my DVD disc may be corrupted. Hence I got a new DVD from US and played again. But same problem exists. Anybody has any solutions for this peculiar bug.

When prince moves it moves on the poll it transport to desert, so when that happens u just rewind to get back and with it tap direction key once, then try this again to go through all the way, u will find this thing at least 3 more times. I finished my game, it gets really tough at final climb. Hope u all find it useful (& no save game required).

Hey guys if you pasted the 4.save file and it still starts at the same place, try deleting every save file such as 1.save 5.save etc. in your 11 folder. and then just put that 4.save from the link above. It worked for me then. Also, if you want upgrades, paste the rest back after that.

Friends I had the same problem of doors…. I was killed by the Roller and when my game started I was at the balcony from where I could not jump back and can’t go ahaed as the door is closed.
So after wasting my alot of time I got few solution from different forums and web pages.
Here are they.
1- Go to this path
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Local Settings\Application Data\storage\SKIDROW\11
There is a file of 4.save .. Rename this to 4.bak now run the game .. hopefully it will work
2- Second way(IF above one is not working) is again go to this path
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Local Settings\Application Data\storage\SKIDROW\11
Remove all the saved files like 4.save ,2.save , 4.save.metadata and 2.save.metadata
After removing all these files paste the save games files here (Saved games can be found from any helping website)
3- Third way is that go to the options and change the difficulty level to lower …. hopefully all of these 3 points will be helpful to all of you guys..
