Today Mytic has announced that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will be coming to the Mac in the fall of 2009. Warhammer Online is currently in beta testing and is available to all current subscribers and new Mac players via a 10-day Mac beta trial account which you can get here.
Players from both PC and Mac platforms will be able to battle and quest together simultaneously on the same servers by using TransGaming’s Cider technology which allows Mythic to rapidly enable and deploy WAR for the Mac.
I hate Apple computers, mainly for its lack of games, but also for many other reasons, so it’s nice to see Warhammer expanding and helping out Mac users. Here’s the Mac system requirements.
- Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard or higher
- Intel Core Duo Processor
- 2 Gigabyte RAM
- ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM
- At least 15 GB of hard drive space for installation.
- This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems (PowerMac).
- Supported Video Cards
- ATI Radeon(TM) series
- X1600, X1900, HD 2400, HD 2600, 3870
- NVIDIA GeForce series
- 7300, 7600, 8600, 8800
- This game will not run on the GMA 950 class of integrated video cards.

I’m totally up for WAR going to the Mac. I might even get myself a Mac one day :)
Yeaaaaaah! Finally!
Mac OSX is much better than Windows in ALL aspects EXCEPT in game versions, there are so few games with Mac version…Hope this WAR thing rings a bell for all the publishers out there ;)
(PS: before flaming my comment, my comment contains high values of personal opinion, i.e., if I say OSX is better than Windows, thats just my opinion so there is no use for anyone to start flaming because it won’t make me change my ideas and you will look bad :p )
nice im fine with people nonoffensing macs like you but im annoyed by people who go on insulting them
you should even though they cant play many games there still really cool :)
macs arent the greates because they simply cant handle gaming content so to make a game that is just windoes now for mac is super hard so for this to happen im happy
moontorment where did you get the information that it’s “super hard”? I don’t think you know what your talking about.
It all comes down to DirectX 3D wich is a microsoft owned 3D API which is used in most of the games to day and is seen as an industry standard. It is because Microsoft sit on this 3D API that we don’t see any games available for mac.
Apple is trying hard to get as much as they can compatible with windows and other operating system and software.
