This week, Cryptic Studios has provided us with more Season 2 material to get excited about. Star Trek Online‘s new season, entitled “Ancient Enemies”, will usher in new item sets and ships, as well as a host of “diplomatic” missions. These endeavors will entail anything from trade contracts to exploration quests, as well as the new “First Contact” missions. Eight new Klingon-based “episodes” are also planned, as well as a social media feature involving Facebook.
The Season 2: Ancient Enemies trailer depicts fast-paced battles involving some exotic looking ships – most likely of Klingon engineering. Ships move deftly, and the combat is bright and colorful; laser beams and explosions light up the darkness of deep space, and no ship escapes safely. Also shown are a few bloody ground brawls, in what appears to be a PvE instance. Looks fun!
