Trion Announces RIFT Closed Beta

On December 3rd, Trion will open the floodgates to Rift: Planes of Telara, signifying the start of the “Rise of the Defiant” beta event. This is the first installation of an exciting beta series that Trion has meticulously tailored to maximize player involvement and feedback. Jump past the cut to see all the relevant details.

All you power levelers out there need to cool your boots, because “Rise of the Defiant” will only feature the first 20 levels of play, so we can experiment with different classes and playthroughs. Of the two factions: the Guardians and the Defiant, only the latter will be playable. As a member of this “technomagical” faction, players will explore its full starting zone, as well as the Plane of Death (I heard it’s lovely this time of year). Certainly only the boldest of adventurers would seek out the fortress-city of Meridian, which houses the “Iron Tomb” dungeon, wherein swathes of undead baddies await their next victim.

With Rift: Planes of Telara, Trion hopes to cultivate a thriving player community, as well as a dynamic storyline and landscape. Scott Hartsman, Rift’s Executive Producer and Trion’s Chief Creative Officer, voices his anticipation, “We’ve created this deep, vibrant world that’s just waiting to be populated with enthusiastic players, and our hopes is that gamers will enjoy playing the game as much as we’ve enjoyed building it.”
