Yesterday, the fine folks over at Icarus Studios have shared the current state of Fallen Earth. Life looks good in the wasteland — as good as it gets, anyways; the devs have been efficient with their time, and have been able to move up some previously long-term projects to release in Q2. As a prelude to Alpha County (the newest sector in development), a mini-zone known as Terminal Woods will go live later this month, complete with additional achievements, a PvP zone , Scavenger bosses, and roaming World bosses for players to confront.

Acting on their partnership with Nuclear Blast Records, Icarus has also implemented a special Heavy Metal Bunker Bar that can be found in Terminal Woods. Can you say, mosh pit? Alpha County, which will release in Q2 along with the aforementioned “long-term projects”, boasts several content additions:

Along with an increased level cap to 55, close to 700 new missions, a new conflict town called Blockade, additional recipes, gear and consumables, we will also be including Progress Towns and World Events in the feature list. More info on both Progress Towns and World Events will come closer to the launch date.

Finally, the team promises to smooth out some glaring Blood Sports issue, as well as return to the drawing board on the hot topic of player housing. As well they should, Icarus is taking their time implementing a legitimate housing system that adds to the tone and atmosphere of Fallen Earth. As Aro Sei aptly puts it, “Rushed, it would do more harm than good.”

Along with these hefty plans, the state of the game includes more information on raid content and Alpha County’s art direction. Check it out here. Oh yeah, that big guy up there is a Plant Zombie. Yep, you heard me right. It’s Undead Vegetable Bigfoot. Awesome.
