Some details about the main gameplay mode for Dawn of Fantasy have finally be revealed this week in the third Developers Diary. Dawn of Fantasy is an upcoming MMORTS where the player starts off by selecting one of three races, humans, orcs or elves and then must build up their forces and found a new homeland for themselves.
The player begins with a small army and a few building and must gather resources in order to grow. Players will be able to turn their small towns into bustling estates, with heave fortifications, it’s own economy, multiple armies and trade caravans traveling throughout the game world. In order to group players will have to manage the near by lands natural resources or build armies and take it from neighboring towns.
When a player logs out, their homeland will continue without them, gathering more resources, continuing construction or upgrades and training new units.
Online Kingdom mode will feature an epic story-line with three different campaigns that will progress through quests which can vary from sieges to open battles, simply gathering resources or even PvP.
On the world map, players can participate in PvP by using the auto-match feature, pitting two players against each other or they can siege NPCs.
Inside each town, there are merchants, mercenaries, healers and trainers, all waiting to swap gold for services. Players can zoom into any of their travelling armies, to explore their local area or create defensible camps on the map, acting as forward bases whilst their army heals or builds siege weaponry.
