Black Prophecy NA Release Date Revealed + First Addon

Lots of activity happening with Black Prophecy today.  Not only did Gamigo announce the released date for the North American launch as tomorrow, July 13th, but it also announced the first content addon called Episode 1: Inferno in Tulima, which will be available for both NA and EU tomorrow as well.

I dabbled in Black Prophecy a bit when the EU version launched, but didn’t get very far, I think lev 5 or 6 maybe since I was really waiting for the NA servers to launch.  Now that they are, I’ll be jumping back into the pilots seat tomorrow.

Inferno in Tulima will introduce a new sector set, Tulima, a ton of new missions, one new weapon called the flak cannon, special items and the new buff system.  The DLC will also bring enhancements to the HUD and introduce two new tactics for the Tyi and Genide races.  Plus a variety of tweaks, adjustment and bug fixes.

Below we have the Inferno in Tulima trailer and after the jump you can view the full details to the addon DLC.

New Content

  • New hub: “Enzo’s”.
  • New sector set: “Tulima”. Some of these sectors are interconnected and can only be unlocked by completing a specific job and destroying a powerful group of NPCs guarding a travel point to the other sector.
  • 12 dynamic PvE missions.
  • 3 dynamic PvP missions.
  • 5 alien-related PvE missions.
  • 20 jobs in mission chains, situated mostly in the new open sectors.
  • 2 new main story missions (1 for Tyi and 1 for Genides).
  • Added premium item that allows player to reset their skills

New Weapon

  • The flak cannon is a fast-firing explosive weapon that deals moderate area damage.

Special Items

  • Added the special item and buff system
  • Added 10 special items with unique effects
  • Some of these special items create buffs that are displayed as icons to the player affected.
  • Level 5 versions of the 7 common special items can be purchased in the main faction hubs Comadrome and Crysalis. Higher-level versions and the 3 rare special items are only available as loot from NPCs
  • Special items only come in one quality level.

New HUD elements

  • Added a bar that can be used to trigger specials and consumable items. Just drag an item from your inventory into one of the slots in the new bar.
  • Added a station overview list that shows all docked players.
  • Resizeable chat windows.
  • Multiple chat windows (dockable and undockable).

New Tactics

  • New Tyi tactic (Hover Back)
  • New Genide tactic (Strafe Back)
  • New tactic for Tyi and Genides (Slide Backwards)
  • Changed the key combinations for several of the old tactics. All tactics now require three buttons to be pressed. The new key combinations are displayed in the tooltips for each tactic.

Mission System

  • Most PvP missions now also grant a reward for the losing team. However, some mission types are not suitable for this system and will still only reward the winning team.

E-Mail System

  • Send messages to multiple players in your faction.
  • Send items to one player in your faction with the option to ask for payment (Cash on Delivery).
  • Send or request money.
  • The e-mail system is not available during the prologue. The e-mail button appears the first time you dock after selecting a faction.

Character Portraits

  • All characters now require a custom character portrait shot. This is created after the character customization process for new characters or before the first login for characters that already existed before the release of this add-on.
  • Portraits appear in the communicator and station overview (a tab in the sector target list).

Crafting

  • Modding time has been reduced to 3 seconds.

General Changes

  • Apo Kata was available at level 8 and is now available at level 10. The player now also has to accept the job “Expedition: Diplomatic tension in Apo Kata” in the Spire Station.
  • Col Esera was available at level 10 and is now available at level 6. The player now also has to accept the job “Expedition: Fire and flame for Col Esera” in Crysalis/Comadrome.
  • The Spire station was available at level 14 and is now available at level 8. The player now also has to accept the job “Expedition: The Spire shines in new-found glory” in Col Esera.
  • In the Apo Kata hub, the player can get the job “Expedition: Settling a score with Enzo’s Emporium” that unlocks the Enzo’s Emporium hub sector.
  • Added an option to skip all videos.
  • Changed the way repair drones work: Since they are a consumable item, they can be placed in slots 5 and 6 of the Special bar and are activated through the keybindings associated with those slots. The cooldowns and amounts repaired by the drones have also been adjusted.
  • Due to importance of the Special Bar, the default key bindings for its slots have been set to 1-6 and the weapon groups have been moved to F5-F9. However, any changes to the default key bindings are not applied by patching, since that would also erase any other custom settings players made. The default key bindings only apply to completely fresh installs. All other users will have to change the key bindings manually to something that suits them.

Bug fixes

  • Increased timer precision for NPC respawning in open sectors. NPCs will no longer randomly respawn instantly.
  • Adjusted level requirement for “Jadd Baran Report #3” to make sure players have access to the required sector.
  • Adjusted level requirement for “Cash for the clunkers” to make sure players have access to the required sector.
  • Storage Capacity Upgrade now works instantly – previously it only took effect after changing sectors.
  • Fixed the constructor “Start” button that was not working properly sometimes.
  • Fixed movement values for alien ships. They shouldn’t go outside the sector limits anymore.

Known issues:

  • Character portraits are currently not saved properly after you have logged out of the game. You have to make a new portrait shot everytime you log into the game.
  • Also the portraits are currently not being shown in the chat and station windows.
