Eden Eternal Gets its First Update

Usually when a new MMO launches the first update is usually a small one with mostly bug fixes and minor adjustment, but not Eden Eternal.  Only two weeks past launch, the first content update for Eden Eternal already introduces a new race called the Zumi and adds a new ranking based rewards system.

On top of that there’s also a new set of eight-player raids for end-game players called the Heroic Dungeons.

The new ranking based rewards system tracks the top players and guilds from each server. Each month rare and valuable prizes will be awarded to the top 20 players and guilds on each server and they will receive rare and valuable loot.

These seem to be major features that were left out of the launch only to be introduced 2 weeks later in a patch.  While I’m sure players are happy so to see the patch go live, my question is why not just push the launch date back by 2 weeks when all the main features are ready?
