CCP is partnering up with Nexon to bring Eve Online to Japan this fall. While Eve Online is already available world-wide, Nexon will bring a fully localized game client and product services to Japanese players. This will allow players located in Japan to play in their native language which should greatly increase the Japanese player base.
EVE Online will also added to the portfolio of titles available through Nexon’s portal site, utilizing Nexon’s billing system and supported by the company’s expertise in the areas of regional marketing and promotion.
CCP CEO, Hilmar Veigar Pétursson has this to say about the new partnership with Nexon,
Japanese players have always been an essential part of the EVE Online community… Having considered Nexon’s excellent reputation as Asia’s leading game developer and publisher, they were the obvious choice in who the best possible partner would be to help us make the game more accessible to our growing fan base in Japan.
The partnership will also include the upcoming MMOFPS from CCP, DUST 514, which is integrated into the Eve Online universe.
