As their final phases of closed beta testing reach fruition, Perfect World Entertainment Inc. has disclosed plans to begin open beta evaluations on their newest F2P MMO, Heroes of Three Kingdoms, Tuesday, July 27th. Perfect World Entertainment Inc. has an impressive repertoire of successful online games, including Battle of the Immortals, Jade Dynasty, and Perfect World International. To round it all off, the company has also proven adept at single player games, receiving critical acclaim for their single-player RPG, Torchlight.
Reportedly “tremendous” player response to the game has resulted in a strong start for HoTK, which boasts it’s own unique flavor of gameplay and progression. During the open beta, Perfect World Entertainment Inc. intends to continue searching for ways to improve the game, while keeping a close eye on player reports and suggestions.
In addition to the already robust array of features (including Guild territory wars, PvP battlegrounds, and historical instances), open beta is set to throw even more customization variables into the mix. A title system, community interface, and the option to choose from 18 weapon types (ranging from hookswords to gauntlets) are planned to be included in the final release. The crafting setup is also being fine-tuned during this process, to allow for the creation of the most useful and progressive items. Finally, as touched on above, the title system will provide more than just a prefix or suffix; each title is associated with a beneficial effect of some sort.
Heroes of Three Kingdoms sets itself apart in that it is a historically based fantasy MMO, rooted deeply in eastern tradition and lore. It promises to deliver a consistently high-quality gaming experience, while allowing characters to influence central events of Chinese history.
So, on July 27th, prepare to join your brethren warriors and take up (a surprisingly diverse array of) arms to defend your kingdom’s victory! If you can’t wait until then, closed beta signups are still active at the official site.
