E3 2011 is over and now that we’d had some time to contemplate what we saw and heard, we are proud to present our E3 MMO Awards. We decided to keep it short and sweet and only give out three awards total. Best MMO, Most Anticipated and Most Innovative.
Most Anticipated MMO
Star Wars: The Old Republic was by far the most anticipated MMO for us at E3 and we were not disappointed with what we saw. Between the cinematic trailers, in-game footer and developer played demos, we learned a lot about where the game currently is and where it’s going. I don’t see any game on the horizon that can out hype SWtoR and for that, it wins our Most Anticipated MMO award.

Most Innovative

DUST 514 wins our Most Innovative MMO award with ease. Not only is DUST 514 the first ever MMO game to share one universe between two separate MMO games, but the actions of players in one game will effect players in the other. While we were disappointed DUST 514 will be a PS3 exclusive, there’s no argument that is by far the most innovative MMO in years.

Best MMO

Our winner for best MMO at E3 2011 goes to Tera Online. While it was a tough field, we felt Tera stood out from the crowd with their impressive videos, graphics and action based combat. The combat system is what really won us over and looks to be a game changer for the MMO genre. We’re excited to see more and can’t wait for this one to go live.

Where is Guildwars 2?
Guild Wars 2 wasn’t shown at E3, but it will a PAX Seatle this august.
GW2 is reserved for the “SIngle Player” game with a “log in to play online” feature, please refraine from mixing that crowd with MMORPG websites. IF that is normal, you may as well add Modern Ware Fare 3 as a FPSMMORPG… which it technically is not, unless GW2 is. GW2 is trash and belongs to tha carebare crowd who can’t handle the MMORPG mechanics. K thanks.
