Trion Worlds has released new content information for its game Rift: Planes of Telara. This game, continues bringing nice stories about Telara, helping us figure out about an apparently rich background. We know of the mysterious Rifts, we know of Regulos, and we know of Telara, suffering a terrible danger with every invasion from outer planes. Now, a lost empire is presented.
The Eth Empire flourished after facing the terrible dragons, using magic and powerful artifacts. Once a wandering race in the desert, the Eth became a powerful empire drawing magic from sourcestone and building magic objects of wonder, helping them in banishing Regulos from the world. They lived peaceful days and prospered then, building great cities ruled by a sorcerer-king.
Some time after, The Eth became an advanced civilization, capable of surviving the desert and devoting to harnessing sourcestone, crafting and so on. But, somehow, corruption infected The Eth civilization, as the dragon cults infiltrated the Eth wonderworks. The sorcerer-kings gathered and decided not to let the Eth wonders fall in the evil hands of the dragon cults. They cast the Convocation, with great sorrow.
A magical vengeful wave fell upon The Eth Empire, silencing machines and snuffing every eldritch light. Roads cracked and magical wells went dry till, finally, the drastic measure adopted by the sorcerer-kings sank the empire below the sands. Now, The Eth wander the deserts once more, helped by their allies, the Bahmi, remembering their glorious days.
The rise and fall of this empire is an inspiring story, awaiting for brave adventurers to find the lost ruins, deep below the sands, of an empire who loved progress above superstition.
