In a very risky move, CCP Zulu explains in the EVE Online developers blog that many of the restrictions placed on Pilot’s License Extensions (PLEX) will be removed.
Now that the introductory phase is over the developers believe it is time to put PLEX in its place by removing all “special casing” around PLEX items and having them as all other regular items.
As a result of these restrictions being lifted, players can now:
- Undock from a station with a PLEX in their cargo hold.
- Put PLEX into courier contracts.
- Redeem items (including PLEX) at stations other than NPC stations.
- Reverse-redeem items (including PLEX) in stations other than NPC stations.
- Convert ETC into PLEX in stations other than NPC stations.
CCP Zulu states that the dev team is fully aware that players may end up ragequitting over possibly losing their PLEX after being ganked, however they believe that it will help break the perception that PLEX is more valuable than it really is.
The changes will go live Tuesday, July 13th. To read more on the PLEX changes you can visit the EVE Online developers blog.
