Planet Quesh Sparks Resource War in Star Wars: The Old Republic

Ah, resource wars. This most timeless of conflicts can be found in pretty much all games (quick, name an RTS!), and it’s set to arrive in Star Wars: The Old Republic through a chemical-drenched world known as Quesh.

Quesh is the newest playable world to be revealed for the upcoming sci-fi MMO, and both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic want complete control of its toxic resources.

The Republic seems to have the local advantage, having discovered Quesh earlier and partnering with the endemic Hutt clans to convert its poisonous chemicals into profitable steroid-like adrenals. The Hutts were supposed to be neutral to the ongoing feud between the two factions but the lure of profits convinced them to work alongside the Republic.

Of course, it was only a matter of time before the spies of the Empire learned of the secret money-making operation in Quesh. They promptly gathered their troops and attacked the Republic settlements on the planet, eager to take resources for themselves–or probably blow up those they can’t.

Head past the cut for a look at how Bioware designed the rust-copper environments of Quesh, and how it’s toxic sludge is sparking a resource war in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
