My “sources” “say” that Blizzard will be holding a Cataclysm-themed press event next month on June 8th. I’m sure you can expect all sorts of new information on the upcoming expansion, but I know there’s only one thing that’s really on your mind: are they going to announce the beta?
Well, considering that they have already begun pushing opt-ins, and time is quickly running out to move into the beta phase, I’m going to go with an emphatic yes. Likewise, the current testing phase seems to be accelerating with patches updating still-unfinished aspects of the game world at a rapid pace. This may very well be in preparation for allowing more people to join in on the fun, and I’d expect that to happen very soon after the press event.
Being a rumor and all, there’s not much more to say than that, but it seems quite reliable. When official word gets out there, we’ll make sure to let you know.
