Star Wars: The Old Republic: Advanced Classes (Fully) Revealed

Regardless of my feelings on the “shortcomings” of the real game, I’m still following the development of the most anticipated MMOG in 2011, Star Wars: The Old Republic.  In my opinion that is.

Sadly, the last time that we were actually updated on new features, or clarification on already known ones, was back at E3.  Just under 3 months later, we finally have video footage of the interesting space combat. That, coupled with that the first we heard of sub-classes back in May, I’m scared that a first half of 2011 release may not be in the books anymore.

What makes this even more depressing is that sign-up for the beta has been out for some time now. With beta testing commencing isn’t it safe to assume that the core of each class is complete?

Perhaps I’m too demanding, but regardless, BioWare had a Fan Friday to showcase the new classes:

BioWare on Advanced Classes

  1. well of course. Sith of today is really a religion/way of life. the true sith died out milenia ago. super SW nerd over here. ^_^

  2. *gasp*

I thought I was alone in the universe! Star Wars is my die hard lore basis. The only things I don’t know is stuff from the extended extended universe (the many books).

  3. Most likely either a Jedi Sentinel or Sith Marauder. Melee DPS is what I know and love the most, so that’s what I stick with. Now to decide if I want to be good or evil…

  4. I looked it up, and the only reference is to Old Republic itself. I know naming is difficult, but wizard should not be used as a class in Star Wars. Or Sci-Fi in general.

  5. oh damn, mybad, put the (dot-commer) lol. and yes, trust me, you have to do a little digging, because it was a rank for jedi back in the great hyperspace wars, and up to the Mandalorian wars. after that it was dropped. and replaced by the ranks we know of. Sentinel,Gaurdian,Padawan,Knight,Apprentice,Youngling,Master and Grand Master(not in order sorry)

  6. I don’t know. I’m stuck between Sith Assassin and Imperial Agent. I want to do burst DPS, but I guess I have to chose ranged vs melee and I have no preferance liking both. I wonder which one can out dps the other.

  7. I’m doing a consular with healing specialty…I’ve always liked healing classes. Good luck to all the Knights/Guardians juggernauts/marauders trying to find a group or guild later though…
