What, no big check?
Hot on the heels of its LucasFilms purchase, Disney has announced the incoming of a third Marvel-based online video game. In a partnership with Smilegate, Disney Interactive has penned a deal for the superheroes of the Marvel universe to duke it out League of Legends/Heroes of Newert/DotA 2/SMITE style.
Codenamed Project PK, there is some bad news for Marvel fans. The deal only mentions an Asian release. No other region may ever see the game. Smilegate is best known for its tactical military F2P shooter CrossFire. The yet-to-be-named title is expected to launch in 2014.
This may send some Star Wars fans into a frothing rage, but imagine if Disney leveraged all its intellectual properties from Star Wars to Marvel to Mickey into one Super Smash Bros. style MOBA. The humanity.
