Halloween MMO Treats!

MMO Halloween TreatsHalloween!  Oooo!  Scary!  And all across the MMOashpere there are events, quests and celebrations to mark the occasion.  Below is a hefty sampling of those events, presented in no particular order, because it would be bad form to show favoritism.  (And also because I’ve got like thirteen pages of event announcements to talk about and if I don’t do it soon, I’ll be the last of the living meat-sacks left in the building when the zombie hoard arrives.)

And so, without further eloquence…

BioWare announces that in Warhammer Online there are eight tasks to complete their Daemonball Rally Quest.  In Ultima Online players have the chance to bay at the moon (but hopefully not wee on the rug) as werewolves in the Ancient Hellhound Encounter.  And over in Dark Age of Camelot the Ghostly Harvest Quest is available for characters level 45 and over.

Nexon is offering new items to celebrate the day in Combat Arms, as well as a free 30-day Halloween skull to those who players get 100 kills while wearing (what is presumed to be) a regular Halloween skull.

Rock Hippo Productions has announced a Microvolts closed beta update including ammo drops, weapons balancing and a Facebook event that features a Halloween item set with themed weapons, masks and items.

In Tales of Fantasy, players that log in and shout “TRICK OR TREAT” will get one, (a treat that is, not a trick!)  Additionally, all weekend there will be server-wide 2xEXP and 2xSP.

4Story is throwing a Halloween party for players that include snazzy items like Burning Pumpkins, Halloween Candy and a limited edition Pumpkin Helm that won’t be available once the event is over.

Free to play Mission Against Terror from Wicked Interactive has a whole host of Halloween goodies including (but not limited to) a “Hellfire Green” edition of its M134 minigun, Pumpkin smoke grenades and masks a’ plenty.

Aeria Games tells us that Kitsu Saga is now in full commercial release and is celebrating the weekend with limited-time holiday items as well as plenty of pumpkins to smash for the sweet, sweet rewards hidden within.

Fantage, aimed at kids and tweens, is getting in on the creepy celebration with a weekend-long party including trick-or-treating, a Halloween Q&A, a Ghost Hunt, goodies and more.

IGG tells us that both Tales of Pirates and Angels Online are fully invested in the spirit of Halloween fun with mysteries to solve and cool things to wear in both games, as well as plenty to discover in each.

Those who try Marvel Superhero Squad Online can create their own customizable headquarters and blast into a collectible card PvP system, all while playing as their favorite Marvel superheroes.  None of these are restricted to Halloween, however, because capes and tights are forever.

Global Agenda says that a Haunted Defense Mission will run through the Raid queue and that players can earn Halloween loot items.  And really, who doesn’t love loot?

Over at gPotato we hear that Dragonica and the world of Dragotaka is all decked out in sinister Halloween style, with in-game events and an exclusive free item.

Vindictus is hosting a Fall Festival with decorated explorable areas, themed events and, of course plenty of prizes.

The folks at Turbine have festooned DDO Unlimited two new player characters; Half-orc and half-elf.  There’s also a Halloween event, a new 12-man raid and free quest line.

Not to be outdone, Sony has filled Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures with Sith O’Lanterns and Battle Droid™ Scarecrows and more.  Star Wars Galaxies is, we are told, both spooky and ghoulish, with rewards and décor particular to the season.  Free Realms has been taken over by werewolves and vampire… costumes.  EverQuest has new, well, quests, and EverQuest II has costumes, a quest and Sinkwalkers, Oh my!

Adventure Quest is premiering an in-game music video featureing One-Eyed Doll, as well as a War for Halloween event.

Star Trek Universe unveils a special Feature Episode entitled “What Lies Beneath” for players this weekend and is offering a 20% discount on existing costumes and brand new Seven of Nine costumes.

Utopia Wire has given TLBB players of level 30 and over a unique quest on the Dragon server.  It’s given out by Po Wen in Su Zhou.  There’s the chance to earn a zombie pet egg, as well as Halloween Candy items dropped at various instances.

Last, but my no means least, Forsaken World offers 100% completely sparkle-free vampires as part of their Kindred Vampire Class.
