No point in reinventing the wheel on this. The fine folks over at Massively have put together a list of all the various Black Friday deals for us MMO game players. We’re not talking just brick-and-mortar stores that have five copies of World of Warcraft on sale for $0.01 or something else that’s rather pointless.
The list includes everything from deals on expansions and full titles to deep discount across digital shops for F2P titles. For example, Guild Wars 2 and its Black Lion Trading Post is discounted up to 70%, all major Blizzard titles have been discounted, Lord of the Rings Online is featuring double bonus points of its shop currency, League of Legends has various champions and skins on sale and GamersFirst is offering a 50% bonus to credits purchased.
Don’t worry, there’s plenty more to look at on Massively’s informative post. If you play a popular MMOG, it’s probably listed.
An instinctive designer, she says her secret is “not to look at the figures too much. I’ve always believed that if you come up with great design it will sell. Sometimes recessions can play to a brand’s strength, if what you’re doing is perceived to be authentic. Lots of people wanted to buy into a British label. We were doing classics, but they were a bit different and there’s always been that feeling in this country that even if you economise on your clothes, you should have good accessories. I think what Mulberry represented was affordable luxury.”
