The focus of Neverwinter the past few weeks has been the run up to Fury of the Feywild, the first module (aka digital expansion) for the Dungeons and Dragons action MMORPG. And why not? With a burst of new lore from the new zone of Sharandar, new instances, a dungeon and so much more that’s plenty to get gamers excited. Meanwhile, Cryptic Studios has continued working in the background.
Lead Producer Andy Velasquez’s latest State of the Game details a variety of steps the developer has taken to address the game’s earlier launch pains. After the Astral Diamond fiasco, uptime and the always-necessary balance tweaks, the company added a NeverwinterPreview server for additional testing before changes hit the live servers. Those dedicated enough to help testing will likely have first access to the talked about new classes and Paragon Paths. Velasquez expects them to be released by the end of 2013.
If you’re more interested in the here and now, then the newest trailer for Fury of the Feywild is behind the cut. It’s perfect for us, as it focuses on the lore FotF brings to the table, including the fomorian king, Malabog, and the threat of Valindra Shadowmantle.
