An article from a South Korean newspaper has sparked rumors that Nexon is making a takeover bid for EA. EA shares are up over 6.5% as a result.
EA is the publisher for many of the largest games in the world, including the Mass Effect and Modern Warfare series, EA Sports of course and many many others. Nexon is much lesser known in the west, with their big games being MapleStory, Combat Arms, Dragon Nest and more. Nexon founder, Kin Jung-Ju, is the third riches person in South Korea.
There has been no comment from either EA or Nexon on these rumors, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as there are.
