SWTOR Collectors Edition Sold Out

It seems the $150 price tag wasn’t too expensive as EA sold out of its Star Wars: The Old Republic Collectors Editions a few hours after announcing the pre-order. EA’s Origin store isn’t also the only place sold out, Amazon as well is sold out, but some nice sellers offered their pre-orders for $400.  Collectors editions are also on Ebay starting at $250.

However checking BestBuy, GameStop and Walmart, all three still have collectors editions available for pre-order at the normal $149.99 price.

Do these sellers really think someone will shell out $400 for a collectors edition game?  I remember when Nintendo Wii’s were on Ebay for over $1000 and I just went to Toys R Us the day after launch and they have a pile sitting there. Seriously if EA sells out, they’ll make some more, this is a Collectors Edition, not Limited Edition.

  1. Danggggg. How’d it feel having A Guy shoot Knowledge in your face with a double barrel shotgun?

  2. Where did you hear that? I would think if it were a Limited Edition they would have included that in the product description

  3. It’s in this thread Mike.

Allison Berryman “We can confirm that the Origin store is sold out of Pre-Orders of the Collector’s Edition. You can still Pre-order the Collector’s Edition from the retailers on the Pre-Order landing page (swtor.com/preorder when you click on “pre-order now”), however supplies are limited!”

On other hand, it’s not clear that EA released all of it’s CE’s to any given retailer at one time.

  4. Aguy is correct. Go to swtor.com (offiial site) and it
Clearly says limited. And just so you know people did buy those wii’s on eBay. I don’t think I like you.

  5. What are you guys talking about?

You can pre-order just fine on Amazon.com

I just did. And I got my CE code instantly and entered it for early access.

  6. I don’t think they were saying u can’t get them but saying that it was indeed limited. Which they are.
