Thank You, Lore Hound Community, for Bringing Us this Far — Now Where to Go From Here?

This community that we’ve built here at Lore Hound is a sharp one, so you probably already know what’s coming. As you’ve noticed, we’ve had very little content posted in the past few weeks. While we’ve never been a post-a-minute site, we have in the past tried to keep our readers in the loop about the most major news happening in the MMO world, and how it affects you. So for our failure to continue to provide that service without explanation in the past few weeks, we owe you a heartfelt apology.

As it turns out, we do have our reasons. Our core crew of bloggers has unfortunately shrunk to the point that we cannot continue as we once were. So, right now we’re facing a critical question: Whether to change, or to move on.

Last year, as many of you know, we opted for change when our group moved over to Lore Hound from the previous blog at which we had all met. But circumstances have changed, as they tend to do, and our group is in a much different place than it was at that point.

While we don’t have an answer for you yet, we will soon. Should Lore Hound continue on, we may have to shift our coverage area to a load that is more manageable for the remaining crew. Should we decide to move on, we will let the community know.

Either way, we are thankful to the audience that has been responsible for our growth to this point. It’s been you, the reader, who helped us get off the ground. And it is you who we continue to think of as we decide how to proceed.

Thank you for your support up until now, and we’ll talk again soon.

  1. aw man. i dont want to see yall go too. i love coming to the site every day or every other day and reading up on the latest in the world of games. yall were like a one stop shop for basic knowledge. so i vote yall stay and just suck it up ya pansies.lol

  2. I’ll admit, I came here as fallout from the loss of Project Lore riding on Juggynaut’s coat tails. It’s never been a bad place, but I feel it has been sort of small and as coverage dried up some I worried about its continued state. I miss PL, and have a nostalgia for the idea of five friends doing dungeons, talking trash (sometimes about the trash) and just being pals was the “vibe” I enjoyed. If you opt to split, maybe you guys can look into the Blistered Thumbs web site and start up blogs there?

  3. I really like the site and I hope you dont shut down. If you need writers a know a few bloggers who might be interested. Good luck! And thanks for the great site!

  4. Sad news, but not unexpected.

I’ve been afraid something like this was coming once I saw how many lorehound bloggers were quitting World of Warcraft. While this place has covered a variety of mmos, WoW has always been its backbone. So I’m not surprised to see the site decline alongside WoW.

For all the contributors to Project Lore and Lorehound, thank you. It’s been a blast.

  5. I sincerely hope that LH evolves rather than just disapears. It truly would be a shame because it’s so obvious that all the bloggers are passionate about gaming in general.

  6. You know, we all have our passion for gaming in general. Sure, the website was WoW-centric for a LONG time, but as an almost six year veteran of Azeroth, even I feel the clock winding down. However, that DOESN’T mean I’ll pull the plug. I figure that eventually I’ll change my game or playing time or whatever. We ALL feel that.

I for one, would absolutely LOVE to see LH evolve to cover a more diverse …ummm…variety of games, gaming culture, etc. It’d be like evolving from a one trick pony into a more race quality horse, if you catch my drift.

  7. In all honesty I’d say keep posting the way you guys do. Anyone who’s a regular reader understands that the ‘crew’ has had some changes over the time. Pixie is off in Germany, that kind of a move alone takes it out of you.

Hopefully you do stick around. I stopped playing WoW since I stopped enjoying the game, but I still keep up with the patch notes and still enjoy reading about the game. I also like the different views you guys offer on other MMO’s that the magazines I read don’t offer.

If you do end of calling it quits I will say one thing; “Thanks for the sweet swag” :P
