To date, I’ve purchased every single World of Warcraft CE released with one huge exception, vanilla WoW. Thanks to a combination of an in-progress undergrad education, typical personal financing skills of that age a job of that rank and a girlfriend, the CE was simply out of my reach. Once those hurdle all lined up for a simple single leap I’ve managed to secure the remaining CE.
Blizzard has unveiled the Warlords of Draenor Collector’s Edition as part of its Gamescom 2014 reveals. Featuring your typical exclusive items, like a Dread Raven Mount and Dread Hatchling pet, a Blackhand mousepad, art, behind-the-scenes DVD/Blu-ray and the official soundtrack and cross-universe loot for StarCraft, Diablo and now Hearthstone, the CE is bigger than ever. Oh, and you’ve even an instant level 90 character this go around.
Release date, Draenor cinematic and more after the cut.
Oddly enough, each subsequent collector’s edition has seen less and less added to the /played counter. Nothing has quite captured my attention in WoW since the WotLK days, and, anecdotally, that seems to stand for many players. That being said, the rumored $89.99 Collector’s Edition for Warlords of Draenor is almost a lock for me. I play all of Blizzard’s titles, enabling me to brandish my SC portrait, Diablo III banner and Hearthstone card back with pride.
What about you? Will you be making the plunge? Is it worth almost a benjie for you? What determines that, the in-game exclusives for WoW, the cross-over items or some combination? Don’t forget, there’s always the potential that WoD CE sells as poorly as MoP leaving crop around for deep discounts.
Warlords of Draenor will be available on November 13, just shortly ahead of the tenth anniversary events!
