New Report Says Forget Colin Farrell for THE Warcraft Film Lead

Considering that filming for the Warcraft film is set to begin in January 2014, it’s probably important to land the film’s leads. I’m not a film executive or anything, but it seems to me that it’s fairly important to give an actor time to, ya know, read the script and adopt the persona. I’m also not an actor, so what do I know. Well, I do know that Colin Farrell was the most recent man marked for a leading role. That, according to Variety, is a bit muddled.

The pop culture site is reporting that Vikings leading man Travis Fimmel and his dashing blue eyes will be taking a leading role in the Duncan Jones film. He had been in the rumors previously. The report continues that he hasn’t had a formal offer, but that his conversation is further along than Farrell’s. Yes, Farrell remains in a lead as does Paula Patton. That’s because the film script by Charles Leavitt calls for four major roles.

Currently, Vikings is in production for its second season. I’ve no idea what anyone else is up to.
