Both World of Warcraft and PopCap Games are immensely popular, so why wouldn’t a mash-up between the two be even better? Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve done a collaboration. It was clear that Blizzard employees played PopCap’s casual puzzle titles and PopCap employees played Blizzard’s casual MMO when they released both official Bejeweled and Peggle add-ons that could kill time while in-flight or for Rogues and Hunters to dick around with while the rest of their raid ran back between wipes on Thaddeus.
While we can’t confirm that PopCap had a hand in the following, it’s clear that Blizz intended for one of Catalcysm‘s most interesting quests to pay homage to the popularĀ Lawn Defense game that’s been sweeping the nation. May I present to you: Peacebloom Vs. Ghouls.
Now, the cool thing about it, is that this isn’t just some fluff quest, it seems to be a full-on, repeatble mini-game with rewards. Or at least, that’s what is reflected in some of the new achievements discovered in the latest Beta build, which you can find after the break. Don’t forget to check out our guide.
Feats of Strength
- Bloom and Doom – Survive 100 waves on Endless Mode the Peacebloom Vs. Ghouls quest.
Quest Achievement
- Dont’ Want No Zombies on My Lawn – Survive 25 waves on the Endless Mode of Peacebloom vs. Ghouls
Vanity Pet Rewards
- Mr. Grubbs – Right Click to summon and dismiss Mr. Grubbs. / Instant
- Brazie’s Sunflower – Right Click to summon and dismiss Brazie’s Sunflower. / Instant
Seems a bit more involved, doesn’t it? And the indication of an Endless Mode is pretty good evidence that you can come back and play it any time you want (or, at least as a daily).
Who says World of Warcraft is outdated….
…must…have…music…video…with…dont’…want…zomibes…on…lawn…….
At the very least PopCap will have given permission, since otherwise I’m sure they’d have something to say about it. I expect that for the same reason they will have helped out a little, since they would want it to be good, since I think advertising to most of WoWs audience is a rather good opportunity.
This has to be one of the most original quests (in terms of questing) WoW has done, and it really gets me excited for the other awesome quests there will be in Cataclysm.
