Behaviour Interactive updated the Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade community with some solid news. The hardcore sci fi MMORPG has entered pre-production. Senior Producer Stephanie Marchand describes this phase of development as “experimenting to figure out the exact logistics of how we’ll make the game, and exactly what mechanics work best.”
The current phase of development is focused on creating mechanics that will be the foundation for basic gameplay and seeking to avoid the largest risks associated with such a hugely anticipated project. One of these was finalizing the combat prototype, which has been completed successfully.
Now that Behaviour Interactive has wrapped that, it is moving on to additional features and processes. The Combat Team is hard at work on Jump Pack mechanics, the Tech Team is continuing to investigate server structure while supporting the combat squad. The World Structure Team is envisioning the layout of the world. Meanwhile, the Art Team is focusing on the character customization process with the Management Team balancing all the tasks.
