Lore Cast Season 1 Episode 5: “Stereotypes”

2 January 2012 | No Comments » | LHStaff

Today’s episode of Lore Cast is a mild spoiler kind. Mordil and Beararms are accompanied today by none other than Mrs. Mordil herself, as Sephalon. The majority of the conversation is of Star Wars: The Old Republic and what we’ve been doing, so it counts for today and Wednesday’s episode.

Note: Mordil was getting ahead of himself and spoke incorrectly during the video. It IS indeed, episode 5, and not 6.

Enjoy! As always, the agenda of the conversation is down below the jump.

End of Nations May End Your Employment

Chris Lena and iTZKooPA catch up on the latest for End of Nations. Considering the pair originaly discussed the now free-to-play MMORTS over a-freaking-year ago there have been a few developments. Not only has Trion Worlds declared that the game is entirely F2P at launch, but it’ll contain standard RTS modes like 2v2 and 4v4, co-op RTS options and massive PvP battles scaling as high as 52 players. The title will be supported by the typical cash shop, which will offer everything from XP boosts to American flag skins as shown in the video.

Check out the video for more, including the beta status, overworld breakdown and one massive tank.

Trion Worlds, maker of Rift, has announced that its MMORTS End of Nations will be free-to-play at launch. Under development at Petroglyph, which is staffed by numerous Westwood (Command and Conquer) luminaries, the game will deliver large-scale battles of up to 50 players, customizable units – all of them – and a massive, persistent world full of valuable resources with which to do battle on.

At launch, players will be able to access the entire game for free for an unlimited amount of time. Your typical freemium setup.

PAX Prime 2010: Photos (Day 1)

4 September 2010 | 9 Comments » | Mordil

For those who cannot survive without PAX Prime content: Never fear. Mordil has saved the day by living near PAX, and having nothing better to do but upload photos after a day at the convention.

Some of you may not follow iTZKooPA on twitter, but apparently there were some difficulties with getting the videos posted ASAP. I, however, was invited to tag along and snap a few photos. Star Wars: The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2Final Fantasy XIV, AION, Force Unleashed II, HALO: Reach, Back to the Future (great scott, Telltale Games, great scott), and much more await you past the jump!

Do note that this is only a portion of what I took, and that the rest will be used as we continue our coverage of PAX 10.

I will not be there, unfortunately, to take photos on Day 3. Hope you guys enjoy the sights! I know I did. Oh, and don’t forget to check out our extensive video coverage of the event once, you know, all the kinks get sorted out! Continue Reading

E3 2010: End of Nations Developer Interview & Gameplay

25 June 2010 | 1 Comment » | iTZKooPA

iTZKooPA took two steps left, fixed his hair and adjusted his larynx before jumping into a discussion with Chris Lena, a Senior Producer for Trion Worlds, about End of Nations.  The two discussed the finer points of End of Nations, the upcoming MMORTS from Petroglyph Games.

The Senior E3 Correspondent admits to having a soft spot for Petroglyph, because the company was founded by a group of Westwood staffers disenfranchised by Electronic Arts’ leadership (the studio was ultimately closed).  Westwood happens to be the company that hooked iTZKooPA to PC gaming with its seminal line of RTS titles.

End of Nations pairs the company’s excellent track record of RTS design – as Westwood and Petroglyph – with its new-found interest in the MMOG market.  The title is scheduled for release in 2011.

Petroglyph has another MMOG in the works, the free-to-play Mytheon for 2010.  The mythological MMORPG is being published by True Games.
