The Red Wedding may have ended the game of thrones for many in George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy series a few weeks ago, but the struggle for the Iron Throne rages on daily on Facebook. Disruptor Beam’s Game of Thrones Ascent has seen a voracious amount of content to the deeply strategic RPG. Thanks to a new round of funding from capital investors, this time Google Ventures, the battles, deceit and alliances should continue for some time.
“When you watch an episode, the next day there is content related to the episode you just saw,” Radoff said. “There’s not really anyone else in the market building and rolling out content at that pace.”
The undisclosed sum is to be used to continue the title’s expansion. With over 1 million players across Facebook, Kongregate and its own website, Disruptor Beam has plenty of interested fans. The previous round of found was put directly to infrastructure to allow the continued expansion of services for the increasing playerbase.
It’s unknown what, if any, content will be released between Season 3 and the upcoming fourth season of the HBO series. Disruptor Beam has plenty of options since HBO cut Book 3, A Storm of Swords, into two seasons. Interested in the multiplatform and most-engrossing Facebook game to date?
