E3 2013: World of Warplanes Open Beta Begins July 2

Looking to trade in those treads of World of Tanks for a pair of wings? Then you’re in luck. Wargaming.net announced that its aviation simulation title will be heading to its open beta testing phase on July 2 as part of its E3 presentation.

The open beta testing will come with a character wipe as the developer switches between currency systems and begins to integrate the upcoming unified platform. The testing, which will come in two phases, will start with a complete wipe before stage two changes Tokens into Credits. Considering the change to open beta testing, basically a F2P game’s launch, Wargaming is including a bit of content with the patch. Changes include an advanced tutorial to give “the implementation of crews and crew skills, access to consumables and premium ammo, a brand-new tutorial, [and] two new in-game maps.”
