Moving from closed beta to open beta at the end of April, Neverwinter dropped that final beta-based nomenclature today. Cryptic Studios pushed the latest patch to the Dungeon & Dragon MMORPG to celebrate the for real, for real launch of the action-oriented title. Now officially live, the latest patch adds Gauntlgrym, a barely pronounceable end-game area first mentioned by Jack Emmert during our PAX interview. The zone features a mix of PvP and PvE content in one dungeon-clearing extravaganza.
Neverwinter has overcome inevitable growing pains and padded a handful of patches focused on content and fixes. For those willing to drop a few dollars on a free-to-play title, Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have permanently reduced the price of Zen, the RMT currency in all PWE titles.
Along with the full launch and patch, Cryptic announced the first details to Fury of the Feywild, Neverwinter’s first expansion. The free expansion is to feature three new campaign areas, the same amount of instances, new loot, a dungeon and bad guys.
Fury of the Feywild is set for release later this summer.
